Computer stopped working? Broken toaster? Kettle that doesn’t boil? Bike that can’t be ridden? Zip that won’t zip any more? Bring it to be fixed at Newtown’s first ever Repair Café on Saturday 30th November 2013 at the Market Hall between 10am and 2pm.
If you’ve got broken stuff cluttering up a cupboard or are wondering how to afford a replacement, let our friendly team of “fixperts” repair your stuff whilst you chat over a cuppa. You can carry out the repair yourself with their guidance or let them take the lead. If it’s too complicated to repair at the café, they’ll let you know what needs to be done. Just pop into the market to get help mending clothes, bikes, small electronics and personal computers from people who really know. It’s free, but donations are welcomed.
We throw away vast amounts of stuff. Even things with almost nothing wrong, and which could get a new lease on life after a simple repair. The trouble is, lots of people have forgotten that they can repair things themselves or they no longer know how. Knowing how to make repairs is a skill quickly lost. The Repair Café changes all that! It’s about sharing our knowledge and taking control of our stuff!
Call Richard at Cwm Harry on 07913 590095 if you want more details of what can be repaired or fixpert skills you’d like to share .
